Welcome to the website for the fifth Global Forum on Nicotine – GFN 18. Once again the conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel, in Warsaw, Poland, from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 June 2018.
The theme for the conference is ‘Rethinking Nicotine’. The organisers believe that this reflects the appetite that now exists to examine the changing methods and patterns of use, along with the emerging science relating to nicotine.
The conference archives show previous editions of GFN have addressed ‘a different kind of endgame’, ‘evidence, accountability, transparency’ and ‘reducing harm, saving lives’. In each we have tried to examine the science, current awareness and policy responses within the rapidly changing landscape of tobacco harm reduction, especially the rapid development and availability of new safer ways for the consumption of nicotine.
Reflecting on what has been discussed and taking into account the feedback received from participants, the choice of the theme for GFN 18 enables both for reflection, as well as some projection, concerning the use and potential for nicotine in the future.
Once again the International Symposium on Nicotine Technology (ISoNTech) will run alongside GFN 18. This public event will be structured as a ‘show and tell’ where developers and manufacturers of new devices and products can demonstrate and discuss the science and technology behind them. All participants at GFN will be free to attend. More details on ISoNTech can be found here.
This website will provide information as the event evolves, with regular updates on the programme and speakers, information on side events associated with the conference and also information to assist your travel and stay in Warsaw.
