Delon Human, M.B.Ch.B., M.Prax.Med, MFGP, DCH, specializes in tobacco harm reduction and the appropriate use and recognition of nicotine. He is also the Secretary-General of the Africa Medical Association, a published author, international lecturer and well-respected health care consultant specialising in health system and product development, corporate and product transformation, strategy formulation and health communication. He has acted as adviser to the WHO Director-General and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon.
Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos
Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Athens
Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos is a cardiologist, working as researcher at Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens-Greece and at Medical Imaging Research Center, University Hospital Gathuisberg in Leuven-Belgium. His main research interests are new modalities in cardiovascular imaging and he has received a scholarship from the Greek Society of Cardiology for research and education in this field. He has studied the effects of smoking on subclinical cardiac dysfunction using new imaging techniques since 2010.
Dr Joanna Miler
Centre for Substance Use Research
Dr Joanna Astrid Miler is a Psychologist, with research interests in addiction, harm reduction and smoking cessation. Miler holds MA and MRes degrees from the University of St Andrews and a PhD from the University of Southampton. Prior to joining the Centre for Substance Use Research she worked as an Analyst at RAND Europe, and later, as a Research Health Psychologist in the Health and Lifestyle Research Unit of Queen Mary University of London. Alongside conducting scientific research, she is also a trained specialist stop smoking advisor and worked in that capacity for the City of London Stop Smoking Service.
Robbie Preece
NHSGG&C Health Improvement Lead – Tobacco
Robbie is currently Health Improvement Lead for Tobacco Control within the Public Health Directorate of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board. He has a background of over 25 years in community work specialising in youth health, sexual health and tobacco control across a number of Scotland’s NHS planning units. He currently leads the team that sets the direction for cessation services across a population of 1.2 million people comprising many of the most socio-economically deprived communities in Scotland. His main role is to explore the evidence base around tobacco control and cessation services nationally and apply that learning to policy and service development. Along with colleagues in the wider Public Health Directorate he led the move to seek permission from NHS GG&C Health Board to lift the ban on e-cigarettes on all NHS grounds across Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

Maureen is an HR consultant with more than 30 years HR experience, including over 10 years as an independent HR consultant and 8 years as director of a multinational company. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds the CIPD’s Advanced Certificate in Employment Law. Specialising in Employment Law, Maureen draws from her experience of working collaboratively with employers from the public, private and the third sectors in diverse areas such as legal and financial services, oil and gas, sales, manufacturing and distribution, forestry, the NHS and local authorities.
